Background & Objectives

JBA is Indonesia’s leading auction platform, connecting individuals, dealers, and businesses to buy and sell used cars, motorcycles, and now electronics through both online and offline bidding.
The main objective of my work was to modernize JBA’s app and web visuals, improve the clarity of its user experience, and establish a scalable design foundation for future product updates.

Exploration

UI Revamp Exploration

The existing JBA mobile app homepage was outdated and included features—like barcode scanning—that were no longer relevant. I analyzed the full user flow and proposed a refreshed UI concept focused on clearer navigation and a more intuitive layout, while keeping the bidding process familiar for existing users.

UI revamp exploration aimed at refreshing JBA’s outdated interface and removing unused features such as barcode scanning, while introducing a cleaner, modern layout. (Concept only, not launched)

Key improvements explored:

  • Modernized homepage with clearer navigation and updated visual hierarchy

  • Removal of outdated barcode feature for a more streamlined flow

  • Refined UI elements for a more consistent and user-friendly experience

Logo Exploration

To strengthen visual consistency, I designed conceptual product logos for JBA’s upcoming product lines. Although these were not launched, they established a cohesive visual direction that could support JBA’s long-term branding.

Execution

Web Page Banner Exploration

Designed a future-ready banner concept to modernize JBA’s website interface. The goal was to highlight key auction services with a clear visual hierarchy while reflecting JBA’s expansion into electronics and other categories.

Note: This design exploration has not yet been deployed but was created to align with upcoming product updates and brand direction.

Auction Placeholder (Deployed)

Developed custom placeholder visuals for JBA’s auction platform. These placeholders appear as temporary images for upcoming auctions (e.g., "Auction starts in 20 minutes"), ensuring a polished and consistent experience even before actual product images are available.

The visuals feature vehicles fully concealed behind curtains in JBA’s brand colors—blue for cars and red for motorcycles. This curtain metaphor creates a sense of anticipation, representing the "unveiling" of a new unit for bidders while reinforcing brand consistency and adding a professional, polished touch to the platform.

Tool used: Adobe Photoshop

Impact

Through visual enhancements and UI exploration, I contributed to improving JBA’s overall platform experience. The deployed placeholder visuals created a more polished and branded auction environment, reducing the perception of an unfinished interface and strengthening user trust.

While the homepage revamp and logo explorations were not launched, they served as a foundation for future design initiatives, providing the product team with clear, modernized design directions to streamline the platform and highlight key business features.
